Company History

Crist & Associates Auction & Realty was founded by Donald R. Crist. We are a full service auction and real estate firm with 15 years of experience in auctions and real estate sales. Our company strives to incorporate our experience with tried and tested formulas while incorporating new technologies to provide the utmost professional service. Our company has a high regard for education and our lead auctioneer Don Crist has earned the CAI designation as a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute. The CAI designation is the most highly respected educational designation in the auction industry. Less than 5% of auctioneers nationwide have achieved CAI status.

Facility

Our company has offices at 147 North Walnut Street in Danville Illinois, which is located on the southeast corner of Walnut Street and Harrison Street. Patrons may also access the facility by the using the 20 West Harrison Street entrance. This door is located under the portico.

Our auction facility consists of approximately 20,000 square feet with approximately 5,000 square feet of comfortable auction seating with the balance used for concession, setup and storage.

About the Founder

Donald R. Crist graduated from Missouri Auction School located in Kansas City, Missouri in March 1991, after a rigorous auction course taught by some of the top auctioneers in the nation. Don gained experience by working with other auction firms for the better part of 10 years before opening his own full service, real estate and auction firm, "Crist & Associates Auction and Realty". He has participated in all types of auctions including Residential, Industrial, Agricultural Real Estate, Estates, Antiques, Coins, Guns and Collectibles, as well as benefit auctions. Don is also a licensed Real Estate Broker. His firm sells real estate. He continues to value education and has taken over 500 hours of courses dealing with real estate and valuation. In March 2006, Don completed a three year program of study offered by the National Auctioneers Association conducted at Indiana University and was awarded the CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) designation. Less than five (5%) percent of the auctioneers in the nation have been awarded this respected auction designation. He is honest, forthright and industrious and values integrity in all things business and personal. Don's motto is "Do business win - win, so you can do business again and again." Staff

Matt Myrick has been a Realtor for several years concentrating in residential sales and sales of rural properties with small acreage. Matt has also been very successful in helping clients identify value with regards to income producing properties, for both buyers and sellers, interested in flipping tired properties and for building an income stream through single family or small rental units. Matt has the knowledge and experience to handle all aspects of your real estate transaction. Paul Sermersheim graduated from Missouri Auction School in 1991 after intensive instruction from several of the top auctioneers from around the nation. Paul is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer having served in the Republic of Panama from 1994 – 1997. Since returning to Vermilion County in 2001 Paul has specialized in local fundraising and benefit auctions. Currently a staff auctioneer with Crist and Associates Auction and Realty Inc. he is currently assisting with the sale of real estate, estates and personal property of all kinds. Married with two children, Paul is a graduate of Danville Area Community College and is continuing his education at Eastern Illinois University. He is a graduate of the “Leadership Tomorrow” course. His interests include juvenile justice and international issues, and his hobbies include golf and civic affairs. Directions

From I-74 take the Gilbert Street North Exit across Memorial Bridge, bare right into Main Street two (2) blocks to Vermilion Street. Turn left one (1) block to facility on left. Turn left on Walnut for street parking or parking garage.

From Route 1 heading south to Danville go through Danville to the downtown area turn right at Harrison Street (by the Fischer Theater). Go one (1) block to the corner of Harrison and Walnut.
